Due to Hurricane Helene's approaching and in consideration of the safety of our students and staff, Mitchell County Schools will be closed on Thursday, September 26, 2024, and Friday, September 27, 2024.

We will closely monitor the situation and provide updates via email, the school website, and social media platforms. We expect to resume normal operations on Monday, September 30, but will notify you if there are any changes.

Mitchell County Schools is closely monitoring Hurricane Helene in partnership with local emergency agencies. We are currently awaiting additional updates from our local Emergency Management Agency (EMA) before making any decisions about school closures.

A final update will be provided later after national weather briefings. All announcements will be communicated through phone calls, text messages, emails, and will also be posted on our school website and social media platforms.

Attention MCMS girls, if you are interested in becoming a member of the MCMS Lady Eagles Basketball Team, tryouts are September 23-25 immediately afterschool until 5:30 pm.
