In Awe!
By: Fundrail Quimbley

As our Mitchell Middle School students are developing, growing and quickly adapting to ever ending change, it is essential that we afford them the opportunity to travel other avenues in “Education.” Our new Art class, led by Ms. C. Delk has truly been an eye-opening experience for students, faculty and staff, and visitors. Every time I enter the MCMS, my eyes are saturated with creativity. The students in Ms. Delk’s art class are bringing the walls and ceiling to life. Art makes you think, it takes you places and it forces you into “Awe”!
As we are well aware, focusing is vital for studying and learning in class as well as doing a job later in life. Likewise, collaboration requires students to work together, share responsibility and compromise to achieve their common goal. Thus, our students in art class learn that they must focus and be accountable for their contributions. We all know that mistakes are a part of life, and learning to accept them, fix them, and move on will serve students well as they grow older.

Take a moment out of your busy day and visit MCMS. Look to the ceiling and on the walls, and experience an Awe moment that will last a life-time. Also, Ms. Delk welcomes all visitors to come visit her Art Classroom. Take a look at the latest masterpieces! Artwork completed by our Dynamic Middle School Students is shown below.
