The Mitchell County Board of Education has met the criteria for educational quality established by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission, the NCA Commission on Accreditation/School Improvement, the Northwest Accreditation Commission, and the SACS Commission on Accreditation/School Improvement. Accreditation is vital in leveraging education quality and continuous improvement. Using a set of rigorous research-based standards, the accreditation process examines the whole institution - the program, the cultural context and the community of stakeholders - to determine how well the parts work together to meet the needs of the learners. The Mitchell County School System Certificate of Accreditation is valid through June 30, 2023.
